DECATUR – Science, technology, engineering, art and math – STEAM – fields are the fastest growing industries in the U.S. and University of Illinois Extension 4-H is working to prepare today’s youth with skills to meet the need.
This March, DeWitt County 4-H invites boys and girls to put on their thinking caps and get ready to discover, build, create and grow at STEAM Extravaganza!
Enjoy a fun morning exploring STEAM topics such as woodworking, robotics, papier-mâché, animal care and more. Youth will try hands-on activities, enter raffles and go home with prizes. STEAM Extravaganza is 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, March 9 at the Macon County Extension Office, 3351 N. President Howard Brown Blvd., Decatur.
STEAM Extravaganza is free for 4-H members and $5 for non-members ages 8 to 18. Sign up by March 1 online at go.illinois.edu/dmp or by calling the Extension office at (217) 877-6042. For more information, please contact Jenna Ward at jrward@illinois.edu.
