CLINTON — Anna (Evola) Curcuru, 92, of Clinton, passed away at 2:08 p.m.on August 22, 2017, at family residence in Clinton, surrounded by her family.
Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Monday, August 28, 2017, at St. John’s Catholic Church, Clinton, with Rev. Fr. James Henning, Celebrant. Entombment will follow at Clinton Mausoleum, Clinton. Visitation will be held from 2–4 p.m. on Sunday, August 27, 2017, at Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, with Rosary at 1:30 p.m.
Memorials may be directed to St. John’s Catholic Church.
Anna was born on April 4, 1925, in Cinisi, Sicily, Italy, the daughter of Giuseppe and Angela (Vitale) Evola. She married Giovanni “John” Curcuru; he passed away September 9, 2001.
Survivors include her daughter, Nina Miller, Clinton; six grandchildren, Anna Maria Miller-Lane, Mahomet, Ill., John Miller, Clinton, John Curcuru, Orlando, Fla., Annalisa Curcuru, York, Pa., Angioletta Curcuru, Bloomington, Ill., Tony Curcuru, Cinnisi, Sicily; four great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law: Lisa (Jim) Drew, Lincoln, Ill.
Anna was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Serafino Curcuru.
Anna and her husband John immigrated to the United States in 1965. The family opened Sorrentos Pizza in Lincoln, Ill. in 1969. She enjoyed working in the family pizza business until the age of 90.
Anna was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She loved to cook for the family and spend time with her grandchildren.
