CLINTON – From robotics to livestock, support the talents of area youth by joining in on the fun of the 2019 DeWitt County 4-H Fair. Watch more than 190 4-H youth ages 8 to 18 show projects from July 12 to 15 at the 4-H fairgrounds located on business Rt. 51 North in Clinton, IL. Judges evaluate every project and award ribbons. Top projects receive trophies, plaques and awards donated by local community sponsors. Horse and shotgun shows take place before the fair and dates can be found in the 2019 Event Schedule.

General projects will be on display July 13 and 14. The animal and livestock shows are open to the public and are very fun to watch. The horse show will start 9 a.m. Saturday, July 6 and 1 p.m. Sunday, July 7. Make a day of watching livestock shows on Saturday, July 13 starting with poultry at 9 a.m., goats at noon and Master Showmanship at 6 p.m. On Sunday, July 14, the beef show will begin at 8 a.m., the rabbit show at 9 a.m. and sheep at 2:30 p.m. The swine show will round out the fair by showing at 8 a.m. on Monday, July 15.

After seeing all these great 4-H projects, try your hand at the Pie Baking Contest noon on Sunday, July 14. The contest is open to the public and contestants will be divided by age groups. All pies must be fruit, using one or two crusts, require no refrigeration and be made in a disposable pie pan. Or, if you’re not sweet on making pies, join us from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. for the Pork Chop Supper. Tickets are $8 and all proceeds help support upkeep of the DeWitt County 4-H Fairgrounds. Carryout dinners are available.
