CLINTON — Betty Ann “B.A.” Nelson, 82, of Clinton, passed away at 4:20 a.m. on July 2, 2023, at the Vonderlieth Living Center, Mt. Pulaski.

Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 19, 2023, at Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, with Pastor Darrell Howard officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Kenney. Visitation will be held from 10–11 a.m. on  Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be directed to the Clinton United Methodist Church.

B.A. was born on June 22, 1941, in Georgetown, Ill., the daughter of Oscar James “Bud” and Betty L. (Lancaster) Fortune. She married Harold Wayne Nelson on March 16, 1986, in Clinton. He passed away on September 2, 1996.

Survivors include her children, Edwin Elmo Robb, Jr., Sacramento, Calif.; Edwina King, Yuma, Ariz.; and Rhea Enola Marie McKinney, Mesa Ariz.; three grandchildren, Joshua King, Bryonna McKinney, and Travis McKinney; siblings, Patsy Groves, Clinton; Suzie Reddington, St. Louis, Mo.; Rene’e (Mike) Bess, Clinton; Jim Fortune, Kenney; and Butch (Stacie) Fortune, Kenney.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

B.A. served on the Dr. John Warner Hospital Foundation Board and also the DeWitt County Museum Board. She enjoyed spending time in the mornings with her coffee group.
