CLINTON — Bill Devine, of Clinton, will celebrate his 90th birthday with a family dinner and card shower.
Bill was born on Sept. 1, 1927, to William and Ada (Arteman) Devine, in Downs, Ill. He married Betty Mae Kemp on June 26, 1948, in Bloomington, Ill. She passed away on Aug. 16, 2015.
He is the father of Cindy (Artie) Zambarano, Las Vegas, Nev.; Jim (Maryl Stivers) Devine, Mesa, Ariz.; Terrie Visel, Rantoul; Kathi (Bob Ortez) Ericson, Clinton; Chris (Paul) Stoutenborough, Plant City, Fla.; Kelley (Bart Robbins) Devine, Carlinville, Ill., and Rick (Tracey) Devine, Mahomet. He also is adopted grandfather to Andrea (Joe Grove) Pickens, Kokomo, Ind. He has 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Bill worked for the U.S. Department of Agriculture Soil Conservation for 20 years. He also owned and operated Devine Electric and did land surveying, retiring in 2006. He also drove school buses for the Clinton School District.
Bill is an honorary member of the Clinton Fire Department with 55 years of service, a member of the Knights of Columbus at St. John’s Church and was an active member of Clinton Junior Chamber of Commerce for many years.
