CLINTON — Bob Leonard Shaw, 80, of Clinton, passed away at 3:25 a.m. on April 23, 2019, at his family residence, Clinton.
Services will be conducted at 11 a.m.on Saturday, April 27, 2019, at the Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, with Cody Monkman officiating. Burial will follow at Mausoleum Park Cemetery, Clinton. Visitation will be held from 10–11 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be directed to the DeWitt County animal shelter.
Bob was born on February 19, 1939, in Clinton, the son of Cecil “Tuck” and Hazel Marie (Washburn) Shaw.
Survivors include his children, Lori Ann (Scotty) May, Wapella, and Robert Reece (Tricia) Shaw, Heyworth, along with his granddaughter, Savannah Shaw, and sister Sharon Burton-Walker, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Cecil Welby Shaw and sisters, Colletta Poling and Doris Welton.
Bob loved spending time outside regardless of the season and at the Birkbeck cabin. He enjoyed collecting coins and using his metal detector on old farms, looking for lost treasures. He was a member of the Pheasants Forever, Railsplitter Coin Club and the Central Illinois Numismatic Assoc.
The family would like to give a special thank you to caregivers Theresa Milton, Lisa Wrone, St. John’s Hospice, and to all who brought food and care to Bob.
