KIMBERLY, Idaho — Bonnie Dell Welch Mears, 88, passed away on July 13, 2017, in Kimberly, Idaho.

Bonnie was born on July 8, 1929, in Lane, Ill.  She attended school in Birkbeck, Ill. and graduated from Clinton High School in 1949.  On June 25, 1949, she married Eldon Lee Mears, Sr.  Together they had four children and lived in Latham, Ill.

Bonnie lived in Latham for many years, as she raised her children, and she later moved to Lincoln, Ill.  She later moved to Kimberly, Idaho.

Bonnie was a hard worker and provided for her family.  She worked at Lincoln State School, Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital, Tropics Restaurant, and she later retired from Kroger, in 2012.

Although she worked hard all her life, she lived life simply and humbly with joy and love in her heart.  She enjoyed the outdoors, where you could find her gardening, listening to country music and relaxing on a backyard swing as she watched the birds.  She also enjoyed dancing.  But, out of everything, Bonnie loved her children and family, and considered her children her greatest accomplishment.

Those left to celebrate her life are her children, son, Eldon Lee Mears, Jr. and his wife Penney, of Denton, Texas; daughter, Catherine Sue Mears Wayment and husband Robert, of Twin Falls, Idaho; daughter, Elizabeth “Ann” Mears Thompson and husband Bryan, of Watauga, Texas; daughter, Donna Faye Mears Gaydosh and husband Jay, of Linconl, Ill., and brother, Alonzo Welch; 12 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

A memorial and celebration of life will be held from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 23, 2017 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 3955 Lourdes Drive, Decatur, Ill.
