Carolyn was born to the late Russell Frederick and Mattie Sue (Harper) Waldron on February 23, 1947, in Caruthersville, Mo. She married Dennis Hish on June 2, 1994, in Berryville, Ark.
Survivors include her husband, Dennis Hish, DeWitt; two daughters, Renay (Richard) VanVickle, Caruthersville, Mo.; Michelle Stricklan, Kennett, Mo., two stepchildren, of South Carolina. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Brandon (Gabby) VanVickle, Krista Stricklan, and Brianna VanVickle and three spoiled, loving great-grandchildren whom she adored, as well as her biggest baby, Bosco (her dog); one brother, David (Pat) Waldron, Ill., two sisters, Sandra (Chuck) Malin, Neb., and Lori Britton, Mo.; along with a number of other loving relatives and close friends.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Deborah Jones.
A loving mother and homemaker, Carolyn was a remarkable cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends, especially over the holidays.
For many years leading up to her passing, she collected a large library of cookbooks and recipes. No one ever left her house without an arm load of cookies, homemade bread or jars of salsa and pickles, (better bring her jars back though). She also loved to travel and could out shop anyone.
