CCEF annual ‘Derby Day’ event May 5

CLINTON — “Midwest Dueling Pianos” will headline as entertainment during the Clinton Community Education Foundation (CCEF) “Derby Day” Kentucky Derby event on May 5 at the Clinton Country Club.

Derby Day is a way to have some fun and help many Clinton students.

“Midwest Dueling Pianos,” known for their lively and interactive shows, will entertain those who attend. But first, attendees will sample Derby-style hors d’oeuvres, cheer on their favorite horses, and enjoy dinner and drinks featuring Derby-style fare. The program also will include a silent auction, a live auction and a Walt Disney World Hopper Pass raffle.

“We hope to make this a very successful fundraising event on behalf of local students,” Barbara Gullone, CCEF president, said. “Supporting local education means a stronger local workforce for tomorrow.”

CCEF Derby Day tickets are available now for $125 per couple or $75 per individual. Groups of eight are encouraged to reserve a table early. Seating for the event is limited.

Tickets are available from Dewitt Savings Bank or any CCEF board member. Ticket buyers also may contact Ruth Lowers at (217) 519-2071 or ralowers@hotmail.com.

Launched in 2006 and operated entirely by volunteers, the CCEF is an independent organization driven by community members passionate about education. Through private donations, the Foundation provides support for the development of programs and services not normally financed with tax dollars.
