CLINTON — An open house for family and friends to recognize Alice Gambrel’s 100th birthday will be held from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday, May 21 at the American Legion in Clinton.
Gambrel, who winters in Arizona, was born on Jan. 19, 1917 in Bellflower, Ill., the daughter of Ira and Lula Mae Provines. She married the late Frank Gambrel on Aug. 7, 1945, and together they had two children, Rex Gambrel of Clinton and Rita Gambrel Leeman, of Sandy, Utah.
Alice has two grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.
