SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Charles David Wilson, 83, of Springfield, Mo., passed away on Saturday, May 14, 2022, at Cox South Hospital, Springfield.
A celebration of life was held at Phelps Grove Park, Springfield, Mo., on Monday, May 23, 2022.
David was born on August 13, 1938, in Bloomington, Ill., son of Joe and Lois (Van Dyke) Wilson.
Survivors include his wife, Jane, two children, James (Tonya) Wilson, Hartville, Mo., and Kristine Stamps, Springfield, Mo.; grandchildren, Rich Wilson, Linley Wilson, Eric Wilson, Allison (Maverick) Grimm, Christopher Stamps, and great-grandson, Malcolm Grimm; brother Steve (Karol) Wilson, and nephews, Brody Wilson and Brock Wilson, Clinton.
David attended Clinton High School and Illinois Wesleyan University. He retired from NCR and later from the Professional Golfers’ Association (PGA), in Ponte Vedra, Fla.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
David loved golf and enjoyed his years with the PGA. He was his mother’s son in that he never met a stranger and always enjoyed a good visit.
