MARINA DEL REY, Calif. — Charles Richard “Rick” Kelly, of Marina Del Rey, Calif., passed away on Friday, September 22, in Marina Del Rey following a brief illness.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Beacon Mortuary , Santa Monica, Calif., is assisting the family with arrangements.
Rick was born on January 30, 1957, in Chicago, Ill., the son of Charles and Wilma Kelly. He graduated from Clinton Community High School in 1975. He was a self-employed musician and worked as a watchmaker for various companies for many years.
He married Jennifer Payumo on February 5, 2013, in Manila, Philippines. She survives.
He is also survived by one brother Scott (Julie) Kelly of Clinton and one sister Cindy (Jerry) Haile of Paxton, nieces Stacy (Brandon) Abkemeier of St. Louis and Holly (Kurt) Boehle of Paxton, nephews Stephen (Megan) Haile of Bloomington and Clay Kelly of Edwardsville, two great-nieces and one great-nephew and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Rick had an undying love of music and wrote, recorded, and performed for numerous years in Dallas, San Francisco and Los Angeles.
