MAROA — Charles V. “Chuck” Leach, 63, Maroa, passed away on April 24, 2018, in his home with his family by his side.

Chuck was born on December 28, 1954, in Decatur, Ill., son of Charles E. and Juanita LaThorne (Willis) Leach.  He married Tina Ferrill on April 6, 1974, and they have a son, Charles Ross, Maroa.

Chuck was a life-long resident of Maroa, an outstanding athlete and a 1973 graduate of Maroa-Forsyth High School.  He was a diehard Cubs fan and an avid outdoorsman.  Chuck was a member of the Maroa Masonic Lodge 454, Scottish Rite, of Springfield, and Ansar Shrine.

Chuck was employed at Wagner Casting for 32 years and was currently employed at Carry Transit, Decatur.

He leaves behind his wife Tina and son Charlie, both of Maroa; sisters, Beverly Leimback, of Clinton, and Belinda Stiles, of DeWitt.  He will be missed by many in-laws, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Chares and LaThorne, in-laws, Ross and Dorothy; brother and sister-in-law Teri and Tom Hogan; brothers-in-law William R. Leimbach and Jerry Lee Stiles.

Per Chuck’s request, no services will be accorded.  Calvert Funeral Home, Maroa, assisted the family with cremation rites.

Memorials may be made to Maroa-Forsyth athletic department or Macon County Humane Society.
