Charlie R. 'Rudy' Hicks

BLOOMINGTON —  Rudy Hicks departed this life at 4:17 a.m. on October 7, 2021, at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington, Ill., at the age of 67 to enter his heavenly home.

No services are planned at this time. Cremation rights have been accorded and his ashes returned to the family.

Rudy was born on January 7, 1954, at Patrick Air Force Base, Cocoa Beach, Fla, the son of Charlie R. Hicks Sr. and LaRue Norton Hicks. He married Inez Baldizan in 2001. His parents preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Inez Hicks; his three sons, Jason (Renee) Hicks, Frisco, Texas; Justin (Alicia) Hicks, Princeton, Texas; Ryan (Joni) Hicks, Allen, Texas; two sisters, Kay (Mike) Chapman, Clinton, Ill.; Shawn (Keith) Holland, Zebulon, North Carolina; one brother, Kevin (Tami) Hicks, Moses Lake, Washington; six grandchildren, Dylan, Austin, Devin, Miles, Ethan and Alex, and several nieces and nephews who were near and dear to his heart.

Rudy worked for several years as a railroad engineer for the Norfolk and Southern Railroad. He loved hunting, fishing, and playing pool in a league. Rudy was a loving husband, son, father, brother, nephew, grandfather, and friend. He leaves a very special place in his family and friends’ hearts and will be dearly missed by all.
