CLINTON — The Clinton High School commons was the scene of a signing of a national letter of intent on Wednesday, January 10.
Chase Reynolds has been in athletics throughout high school but has excelled in golf, being a state finalist two of those years.
Chase is the son of John and Stephanie Reynolds. Chase will attend (and playing golf for) Roosevelt University in Chicago. The school is in the NAIA (National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics) and has only had an athletic department for the past eight years with the golf program only being sixyears old according to golf Coach Peter Pougnet.
Coach Pougnet is excited to have Chase in the program as he is the first player to be signed from the state of Illinois. Chase was quite comfortable at Roosevelt, liking the atmosphere, and stated the coaches were really interested in getting him to join their program.
Chase will major in management along with enjoying his golf time although he understands that both endeavors will take a lot more work than it has in high school.
However, he is looking forward to the challenge and opportunity that he has undertaken. His golfing will change from 9 or 18 holes to the collegiate stint of tournaments that play 36 holes on Friday followed by 18 more holes on Saturday.
