CLINTON — In city finances, the news continues to be good, according to commissioner Tom Edmunds. Edmunds reported city sales tax was up about $17,000 from the same time last year.
He cited local online retail sales tax as an important factor in the increase.
Clinton has ridden a wave of good sales tax revenue numbers during the COVID restrictions period that began early in 2020. City officials have commented previously that Clinton was spared much of the downturn experienced by other communities.
“Everything helps the bottom line,” Edmunds said about the help from online sales tax.
