CLINTON — The annual citywide clean-up has been pushed to September and early October, reported commissioner Ken Buchanan during Monday’s virtual city council meeting.
The program will work the same, with residents obtaining vouchers from the city to dispose of items at Clinton Landfill.
“We’ll try to get that finalized and get more news out to you when we get it set up,” Buchanan said.

Buchanan added, street lights around town that belong to Ameren are being upgraded to LEDs at no cost to the city.
The council approved a bid of $15.25 per ton from Evergreen FS, Inc. for sludge lime removal at the water plant.  A second bid from J. Oros Environmental for the same project came in at $45 per ton.
Commissioners also approved the purchase of software for the fire department from Target Solutions for $3,028, and an engineering agreement with Symbiont not to exceed $25,000.
The council placed on file for its next meeting the city’s annual $15,000 contribution for the DeWitt County Emergency Management Agency.
