CLINTON — This past week, the Clinton Junior High boys baseball team gathered its coaches and prospects for tryouts and beginning practices for the upcoming season.
Although hampered by some rain showers, the action continued throughout the week with the sessions split between two groups due to the number of boys trying out for the teams A and B sections. There were around 25 boys at the first tryout/practice.
The coaches were happy with the turnout and said this year they have the largest group of sixth graders they have seen in quite a while. This is promising not only for this season but for the future teams.
The baseball team started the season on Saturday, August 12, on their home field.
