CLINTON — As part of its recent business, the Clinton City Council approved a $5,000 donation to Celebrate Clinton. The donation will help cover the cost of the city’s annual July 4 fireworks display.
Celebrate Clinton assumed responsibility for fundraising for the fireworks display for the first time in 2016, taking over for Brady Realty. Celebrate Clinton also coordinates annual July 4 activities on Mr. Lincoln’s Square, for which it also must raise several thousand dollars.
The 2016 total fireworks cost was approximately $10,000.
The council also approved purchase of a 2017 Ford Interceptor for the police department for $38,084, sale of a 2011 Chevrolet Impala used by the police department, and purchase of a police department Panasonic laptop, not to exceed $5,000.
And, the council approved the summer motor fuel tax (MFT) street maintenance bids from Illiana Construction for $175,980.05.
On file for public view is the fiscal year 2017 financial audit at $4,025 and the annual TIF funds audit at $2,250.
