Clinton cleans up at competition

CLINTON — Last weekend, the Clinton dance teams cleaned up at its regional competition held here in Clinton.

Clinton won 1st place in junior high jazz, junior high lyrical, and junior high open pom to qualify for the upcoming Illinois Drill Team Association (IDTA) competition.

Clinton High School’s team took home 1st place in jazz, lyrical, and open pom to qualify their squad to compete in the IDTA competition. They also earned 3rd in Illinois High School Association (IHSA), and 1st place in IHSA with the highest score out of all IHSA this season.

Alyssa Hart took 2nd place and Makenna Rauch took 6th place solo and both qualified for the solo state finals.

Vanessa DeVore won a rising star award for her jazz performance while Alyssa Hart took the same award for her lyrical performance.

Kelsey Savage, Scout Savage, and Zoe Savage coach both squads.
