MAROA — Illinois State troopers responded to a call involving a motorcycle versus a car crash on Friday, May 31at about 8:35 p.m.
According to police, a black Hyundai coupe was traveling westbound on Wood Street at U.S. Rt. 51 in Maroa when the driver pulled out in front of a Suzuki motorcycle, causing it to hit the car in the rear driver’s side.
The driver of the motorcycle was thrown from the motorcycle, due to the impact.
Both drivers were transported to an area hospital for treatment of injuries.
The motorcycle driver, a 43-year-old male from Clinton, sustained life-threatening injuries, according to authorities.
The driver of the Hyundai, Justin M. Burris, 36, of Clinton, received a citation for failure to yield at a stop-intersection.
