Beta Sigma Phi ‘Coats
for Kids’ October 15-27
CLINTON — Beta Sigma Phi is holding its annual Coats for Kids from October 15-27.
Gently used coats, mittens, hats, gloves and scarves can be dropped off in bins located at Clinton IGA, Save-A-Lot, YMCA, Vespasian Warner Public Library, Lane Christian Church, Clinton Elementary School, Llincoln School and Douglas School during regular business hours.
All sizes of coats are needed.
The cleaned items will be available for distribution at the Dove office, 803 W. Leander Street on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. or at the elementary
Drawing for trapping
permits October 26
CLINTON — A drawing to determine trapping privileges at Clinton Lake State Recreation Area will take place on Saturday, October 26, 2019. Permit applicants must submit their name and address prior to the drawing.
Contact Clinton Lake SRA at 217-935-8722 to inquire about trapping and to submit your name for the drawing.
Trapping will not take place at Weldon Springs State Park during the 2019-2020 season.
Upcoming activities
at Warner Hospital
CLINTON — Warner Hospital & Health Services will host a couple of activities in October.
On Oct. 15 at 9 a.m., the hospital will host a pre-diabetes risk assessment workshop featuring a CDC-recognized lifestyle change program to help prevent Type II diabetes.

On Oct. 23, from 2-4 p.m., the hospital will host “Hand Only CPR,” in the Warner Wellness Center.
The cost will be $10.

The class will teach skills needed to perform CPR while waiting for emergency personnel. The class will include CPR for infants, children and adults.
