Cynthia L. 'Cyndie' Andrews

CLINTON — Cynthia L. “Cyndie” Andrews, 75, of Clinton, passed away at 11:34 a.m. on October 22, 2023, at Carle BroMenn Medical Center, Normal.

Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 26, 2023, at First Christian Church, Clinton, with Ernie Harvey, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Clinton.  A time for food and fellowship will be held following the burial in the First Christian Church Family Life Center to celebrate Cyndie’s life.

Memorials may be directed to C.H. Moore Homestead and DeWitt County Museum.

Cyndie was born on June 15, 1948, in Clinton, the daughter of Jack C. and Maralee (Craig) Armstrong. She married James Larry Andrews on March 20, 1971, in Clinton. He passed away on November 28, 2017.

Survivors include her children, Leslie Andrews, Clinton; Daniel (Keri) Andrews, Gibson City; and Thomas Andrews, Carmichael, Calif.; her longtime companion Gary Holaway, Bloomington; three grandchildren, Kaleb (Katie) Volker, Clinton; Abbey (Colton) Nixon, Wapella; and Jack Andrews, Gibson City; and one great-granddaughter Lilah Nixon, Wapella.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one infant brother Jack C. Armstrong II.

Cyndie worked at Country Companies for 15 years.  She was also a long-time teacher’s aide and substitute teacher for the Clinton School District. She was the first woman to be the head coach of the Varsity Clinton Golf Team. In her free time, she loved to study genealogy and was an avid golfer. She attended the University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana and was a graduate of Illinois State University. Cyndie was a lifelong member of the First Christian Church, Clinton, St. John’s Lutheran Church, Bloomington, and the Clinton Country Club, where she was the Women’s Golf Champion in 2000.
