MAROA — Daniel Lawrence Hunter, 31, of Maroa, passed away at 1:15 p.m. on August 14, 2019, at Decatur Memorial Hospital, Decatur.
Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Monday, August 19, 2019, at Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, with Scott Marsh officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Clinton. Visitation will be held from 10–11 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
Daniel was born on September 19, 1987, in Clinton, the son of Steven W. Hunter and Ann Wickenhauser. He married Amanda Evitt on July 14, 2007, in Decatur.
Survivors include his sons, Roman Hunter, Warrensburg; Jaxon Hunter, Taylorville; and Kellan Hunter, Clinton; father, Steven W. (Kathy) Hunter, Maroa; mother, Ann (Jeff) Taylor, Hallsville; brothers: Andy (Tisha) Hunter, Clinton, and Brandon Hunter, Decatur; step-sisters: Danielle (Ernie) Bryson, Decatur; Brittany Williamson, Decatur; Jennifer (Joe) Gallup, Decatur; and Kayla Carr, Winchester, Ill.; paternal grandmother, Marilyn Williams, Clinton; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents and one brother, Christopher.
Danny previously worked at J. Hoelting’s Produce in Decatur, and also at ADM. Danny loved spending time with his family and listening to music with his friends. His true “happy place” was when he was playing his drums and currently played drums in the band Before the Fire Dies.
