MAROA — Deborah “Debbie” Faye (Reid) Moore, 68, of Maroa, formerly of DeWitt, and later Clinton, passed away on May 1, 2018, with her loving husband at her side.
She was born in Monmouth, Ill. on March 19, 1950, the daughter of Max and Faye (Nicholas) Reid. Debbie graduated from Springfield High School, Springfield, Ill., in 1968. After spending time in California, she settled in Illinois, where she married Dennis “Buck” Moore in 1978. Together, they owned and operated the County Store, in DeWitt, while raising six children.
Debbie enjoyed shopping, garage sales and gardening and was the creator of the famous “Country Taters.” She took great pride in retail and worked at Bergner’s, Von Maur and Walmart. She was a devoted wife and made many memories her family will cherish forever.
Debbie is survived by her parents, Max and Faye Reid, of Savoy, Ill; her husband of 39 years, Buck Moore, Maroa; five children, Alica (Brian Olms) Walters, of Gurnee, Ill.; Stacy Morris, of Clinton; Melissa Dolbert, Clinton; Adam (Rebecca) Moore, Clinton, and Summer Moore, San Francisco, Calif. She leaves behind six grandchildren, Hailey Moore, Kylie Jordan, Jack Morris, Reid Walters, Shelby Morris and Alex Moore. She also is survived by her nephew, Carter Newnam and former spouse, Jesse Francis.
Her brother, Kyle Reid, and daughter, Lindsey Moore, preceded her in death.
Services will be conducted at 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 5, 2018, at Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, with Ernie Harvey, Jr. officiating. Visitation will be held from 1-3 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a memorial donation in Debbie’s memory may direct them to the Debbie Moore memorial fund.
