DEWITT — Delbert Lee Jones, 82, of DeWitt, Ill., passed away at 5:24 a.m. on August 16, 2020, at Memorial Medical Center, Springfield, Ill.
Graveside services with military honors will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Friday, August 21, 2020, at Oak Park Cemetery, Clinton, with the Rev. Jeff DeLaughter officiating. There will be no visitation. Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be directed to the Salvation Army.
Delbert was born on October 12, 1937, in DeWitt, the son of Walter Robert and Susan Esthel (Mott) Jones. He married Reva Carter on April 18, 1959. She passed away on April 8, 2018.
Survivors include a son, Gary (Deana) Jones, Pittsfield, Ill.; a daughter, Corina Shaw, Clinton; a brother, Oscar Jones, Charleston, Ill.; sisters, Helen Colliver, Minonk, Ill.; Laura Etta (Jack) Colliver, Wapella; Lilly (Butch) Green, Bloomington; grandsons, Jason (Dawn) Jones, Nebraska; and Ryan Jones, Nebraska; and four great-grandchildren,
Delbert was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Trena Joann Jones; brothers, Walter Ray and Theodore Calvin; and sisters, Esther, Twila, and Donna.
Delbert was a U S Army veteran, serving from 1954 to 1957. He was a retired union carpenter and a truck driver.
