Hinch Tiling and Excavating was the first-place winner at the DeWitt County Farm Bureau Foundation’s 2017 Golf Outing, held at Clinton Country Club on July 28. Players (L-R): Matt Carpenter, John McGrew, Jonathan Hinch and Brad Hinch.

CLINTON – The DeWitt County Farm Bureau Foundation welcomed 19 golf teams to the Clinton Country Club on Friday, July 28, to raise funds for scholarships and ag education efforts in the County. 

The winning team was Hinch Tiling & Excavating of McLean. State Bank of Lincoln was the second-place team. 

Individual winners were: Longest Drive to Fairway Male and Female, respectively: John McGrew (Hinch Tiling) and Emily Boresi (Altorfer Ag Products); Closest to Pin: Rodney Wilson (Just A Mere Farm); and Longest Putt: Brad Close (Beason Ag). 

Meals were provided by Country Financial’s Champaign, DeWitt and Piatt agency.

The Foundation raises money throughout the year to provide scholarships and support agricultural education efforts in DeWitt County. Foundation sponsorships include Ag Day at the Museum for fourth grade students, the Illinois Agricultural Association Foundation scholarship program and FFA members’ participation in Farm Bureau Youth Conference, a youth leadership development program.
