CLINTON — The DeWitt County Pheasants Forever will sponsor its annual youth shoot on Saturday, September 15 at the Dick Graves family farm.
Registration will take place on site from 8-8:30 a.m. followed by a safety presentation given by an Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) Conservation Police officer.
Participants will be allowed to shoot in 10 venues, BB gun, archery, shotgun, rifle, handgun and muzzleloader. Range masters from Pheasants Forever, the Clinton Police Department, DeWitt County Sheriff’s Office and the Illinois Hunter Education Association, Ducks Unlimited, National Wild Turkey Federation, the DeWitt County Sportsman’s Club and the Decatur Gun Club will provide safe instruction in a family-friendly environment.
All firearms and ammunition will be provided and controlled by the Pheasants Forever chapter.
Clinton IGA will provide lunch, including hamburgers and hotdogs, grilled on-site, immediately after the shoot. There will be free drawings for prizes and merchandise.
There is no fee to participate in the event, and parents / grandparents are encouraged to participate as well.
The program is provided and funded by the DeWitt County Pheasants Forever chapter and their major event sponsors, Dick Graves, Clinton IGA, 300-Below and Baum Chevrolet-Buick.
