CLINTON — Dorene R. Smith, 96, of Clinton, passed away at 2:36 a.m. on August 27, 2021, at the Warner Hospital & Health Services, Clinton.

Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on September 14, 2021, at Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Kenney, with Ernie Harvey, Jr. officiating. There will be no visitation. The family entrusted Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, with arrangements.

Dorene was born on February 1, 1925, in Alton, Ill., the daughter of John and Edna (Dunn) Gaultney. She married Sylvester Smith on May 8, 1943, in Clinton. He passed away on May 13, 2000.

Survivors include her children, Carl (Linda) Wayne Smith, Decatur; Roger Smith, Clinton;  Phyllis (John) McGhee, Clinton; Linda (Bob) Webb, Clinton; 10 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; brother, Richard Gaultney, Kenney, along with several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, three brothers, and one grandson, Jacob.

Dorene was a member of the Kenney Christian Church. She worked for the Warner Hospital in the laundry department for 20 years and was a hard worker her entire life. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother who loved spending time with her family and friends.
