CLINTON — This past week, another of Clinton High School student-athletes took the next step in her sports and studies.
Rodjahnae Dupont-Barlow, “Rodj” to here friends, will attend Robert Morris University. Along with playing softball, Rodjahnae will study health sciences.
After graduation from Robert Morris, her plans are to continue graduate studies in physical therapy. Rodjahnae said she had known since seventh grade that this has been her plan, softball and schooling.
She feels Robert Morris is the right fit because the university seemed like home and everyone from the coaches down to the students and teammates really to an interest in her and in helping her succeed.
Rodjahnae is helping her own cause with good grades and a very good softball year with 4 home runs and 29 RBI’s (just short, so far, of Bayliegh Holmes’ season record of 32).
Head Robert Morris softball coach Boyd Nowicki has been watching Rodjahnae develop as a player for threeyears and has recruited her heavily. The coach believes that “Rodj” will be an input player from the start this coming season with her defensive play and her batting average in the .300 percentile range.
She will play third base, replacing a graduating senior who has been the player of the year for the Eagles. Big shoes to fill, but the coach believes there will be no problem and said he was excited to have Rodjahnae at Robert Morris.
The coach said that part of the family feeling at Robert Morris, especially in softball, is due to the fact that he has four daughters of his own.
