CLINTON — The staff at The Vault teen and community center continues to be visionary not just in offering area teens fun things to do but in giving them opportunities to explore themselves.  One of those opportunities even has the word “vision” in it.

This summer,  Envision U summer career camps will offer teens an introduction to some career paths that are also fun.  The Vault director Michelle Witzke said local sponsors have made the camps possible.

“We are so excited to announce The Vault’s first ever “Envision U Summer Career Camps.”  Thanks to the generous Clinton commUNITY businesses and organizations who are sponsoring these opportunities for our students, we will be able to offer these five incredible camps free of charge,” Witzke said.

Camps will include construction trades, culinary arts and baking, sewing, engineering and mechanics and creative arts.

A $50 deposit is required from each student, but will be returned upon completion of the camp.

“Huge shout out to Write Stuff for Kids, Tractor Supply, First National Bank, Baum Chevrolet, Altorfer, The Warner Foundation, and Salt Creek Patchmaker’s Quilt Guild for their financial sponsorship gifts,” Witzke said.

She said sponsors were still needed.  Anyone interested in joining the team of sponsors or signing up a student, call The Vault at (217) 934-4003 for more information.

“Thanks also to our faithful volunteers; we are looking forward to a great summer,” Witzke said.

Camps are for entering 7th-12 grade students.
