CLINTON — Ernest T. Goodwin, 98, of Clinton, passed away at 2:26 p.m. on April 18, 2019, at his family residence, Clinton.
Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 23, 2019, at the Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, with Ernie Harvey, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Laenna Cemetery, Chestnut, Ill. Visitation will be held from 10–11 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Ernest was born on October 9, 1920 in Bethalto, ll., the son of Ernest Albert and Jessie C. (Hidden) Goodwin. He married Ruth E. Davis on August 19, 1942 in St. Charles, Mo. She passed away on December 8, 2003.
Survivors include his children, Janet (Virgil) Brady, Clinton; Ernest J. (Lucy) Goodwin, Waverly, Ill.; Gary Goodwin, Wood River, Ill; Thomas Goodwin, Clinton, 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren, and brother, Paul A. (Marsha) Goodwin, Lakeland, Fla.
Ernest was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Harold C.T. Goodwin.
Ernest retired from Revere Copper and Brass Inc. in 1985. He enjoyed camping, fishing, was an avid reader and loved western movies.
