Everything is new again at ‘The Great Garden Swap’

Posted

MONTICELLO — Knowing that fall is the perfect time to divide and relocate plants, the Piatt County Master Gardeners are hosting The Great Garden Swap again this year.

The swap encourages all gardeners to bring their indoor or outdoor garden plants to trade for plants from other gardeners. You can even bring your extra produce to swap for something different. Looking for new reading materials? Bring what you have and trade for new-to-you books and magazines.

Join the swap on September 9, from 9-11:30 a.m. for the swap at Forest Preserve Park Pavilion on

North Market Street in Monticello. Check-in will start at 8:30 a.m. A composting presentation will start at 10:30 a.m. and run for approximately one hour. The swap and presentation are free.

Every plant traded must be identified prior to the swap. Plant Swap Plant Profile forms are available at the Piatt County Extension Office located at 210 S. Market Street in Monticello or online at web.extension.illinois.edu/dmp/mg/4561.html. Forms will also be available at the swap. If you have questions or need more details, contact Beth at 217-762-2191 or vallhand@illinois.edu.
