It seems like the April newsletter was just sent out, yet here it is, time for the May issue.

Graduations and end of the school year events are filling calendars. Vacation planning is in full swing, and garden planning is complete. DeWitt, Macon, and Piatt Extension has also been busy refreshing the website to make it more user-friendly and relevant to our programs. It’s a work in progress.

Extension also has an opening for a SNAP-Ed Educator. More information about the position and the link to apply can be found on the careers page. This newsletter shows only a few of the upcoming events. Visit the events page on the website to find out what’s happening near you.

Chess tournament and summer pollinator program highlight 4-H’s uniqueness

4-H is hosting the One King to Rule Them All Chess Tournament from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on May 13 at the Macon County Extension Office. Kids do not need to be 4-H members, and the event is free. Register by May 12!

Is your local library hosting the 4-H summer pollinator program this summer? Register for Macon County libraries by the deadlines. DeWitt and Piatt Counties’ information will be in next month’s newsletter.

Annual Plant Sale

The annual Macon County Master Gardener Plant Sale will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on May 6 at the Macon County Fairgrounds, 3700 N. Westlawn Ave in Decatur. Beautiful perennials, annuals, hanging baskets, and more will be available to purchase. The new-to-you bargain shed will also be on-site, as well as the Master Naturalists and Master Gardeners for individual consultations.
