CLINTON — With the summer beginning and some sports winding down, or slowed by the heat, a number of projects have taken shape.
The new high school baseball dugouts are now complete with new fencing around the field. There also is a new concrete walkway from the parking lots to the baseball diamond.
The work hasn’t stopped there.
The east and west softball diamonds have new specialized dirt on the infields and are getting new fences. The west field already has its new fence.
In addition to the school improvements, the city is having the Rotary Park pickleball surfaces redone. And, there is a new digital, rotating scoreboard up and in use at Wallace Parks north/south baseball fields. There also are discussions taking place about walking paths at some parks and bike paths that were widely touted several years ago.
There is even a partial disc golf course between the high school and junior high school.
