CLINTON — Fayetta (Samuel) Isaac, 98, of Clinton, passed away at 7:49 a.m. on May 11, 2018, at Manor Court, Clinton.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 26, at Memorial Park Cemetery, Clinton, with Robin Mock officiating. There will not be a visitation. Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the First Christian Church, Clinton.
Fayetta was born on February 26, 1920, in Clinton, the daughter of Clyde Corwin and Jessie Faye (Bressie) Samuel. She married Chesley “Pete” Isaac on November 25, 1944. He passed away on May 9, 2005.
Survivors include her two nieces, Lynn (Louis) Vennard, Flat Rock, Ill., and Julie (Mark) Cole, Palmyra, Ill.; dear friend, Sharon Greenslate, and caregiver, Duane Glenn, Clinton.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Corwin Samuel, and sister-in-law, Carmen Scott Samuel.
Fayetta was a member of the First Christian Church, Clinton. She taught for 35 years in Clinton, and also Tennessee, Texas and Alaska. She retired from Clinton Community Schools in 1985.
Fayetta was a volunteer for the cancer drive and the DeWitt County blood drive, and activities of the First Christian Church. She was a life member of the Myrtle Chapter of the Eastern Star and the Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem, Clinton Country Club, a 25-year member of the Illinois Physical Education Association and the Retired Teachers Association. Fayetta was a graduate of Illinois State Normal University, Normal, class of 1941.
