FARMER CITY — Farmer City Police Department are reporting that Rt 54 through the city is now reopen after a truck transporting olive oil leaked some of the oil onto the pavement.
The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) was advising motorists that some of the oil might remain on vehicle tires, even after they are cleaned.
The spill caused the temporary closure of Farmer City’s Farmers Café and Huck’s. Route 54 had been closed from the Rt. 150 and Rt. 54 intersection to the I-74 entrance ramps.
