CLINTON — The final “200 Years of Statehood” Christmas Candlelight Tours, themed in honor of the Illinois State Bicentennial, will take place on Friday, December 21st, at the C.H. Moore Homestead DeWitt County Museum, 219 E. Woodlawn, in Clinton.
The mansion will be illuminated by candlelight accompained by holiday music. Doors will open at 5 p.m. and close at 7:30 p.m. Tours end at 8 p.m.
Guests are asked to enter at the front door. No reservations are needed; guests are welcome to arrive any time between the hours of 5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
Candlelight tours are self-guided, so visitors can spend as much time as they wish touring the 150 year-old landmark, viewing the special exhibits, taking holiday photos in the carriage barn and enjoying the candlelight and musical performances by The Daniels Sisters.
Admission is $5 for adults, $2 for ages 11 to 18, and is free for children aged 10 years and under. DeWitt County Museum Association members, as well as their families and guests, if applicable, are also admitted free.
Anyone wishing to join the DeWitt County Museum Association is encouraged to do so. Annual membership dues are called for in January.
For more information about the candlelight tour or museum association membership, contact the museum at (217) 935-6066.
