CLINTON — Retired Farmer City Police Chief Larry Woliung will join the Clinton Police Department as its new ordinance enforcement officer. Police Chief Ben Lowers announced the hiring during the recent city council meeting.
Wolinung will serve on a part-time basis.
“He will work with us in a sworn police officer capacity,” Lowers said. “But his primary focus will be code enforcement.”
Lower said it would be the first time in three years the department will have a person concentrating primarily on code enforcement.
“We’re excited to have him on board. He will have three to four weeks of field training first,” Lowers said.
Woliung also has served as Farmer City administrator.
The council placed the following items

• Purchase of a K9 transport system for the police department not to exceed $5,000
• Purchase of a Panasonic Toughbook laptop for the police department not to exceed $3,000
• Sale of a 2009 Chevrolet Impala used by the police department
