Franklin W. Mitchell, 75, of Clinton, passed away 9:28 a.m., May 29, 2017 at his family residence, Clinton.
A time to celebrate Franklin’s life will be 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, June 2, 2017 at Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton.
Memorials may be directed to the Franklin W. Mitchell memorial fund.
Franklin was born March 13, 1942, in DeWitt County, the son of Kenneth and Lula (Crum) Mitchell. He married Carolyn Sue Sanders on July 22, 1993 in Nashville, Tenn.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Sue Mitchell, of Clinton; children, Kenneth (Lueverta) Mitchell, of Victorville, Calif., Shelli Mitchell, of Clinton, Lisa Mitchell, of Clinton, Stephen (Debbie) Mitchell, of Clinton, and Janie Wyatt, of Clinton; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and sister, Dolores Foster, of Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Sandra Cusick.
Franklin retired from Revere Copper & Brass Inc. and drove cars for Anderson Ford in Clinton. At Moraine View State Park in LeRoy, Franklin took care of the horses and gave rides to the visitors.
