PITTSFIELD, Ill. — Gary Lee Jones, 59, of Pittsfield, Ill., passed away on Saturday, October 9, 2021, at his home.
He was born on January 10, 1962, in Clinton, to Delbert and Reva Carter Jones. He married Deana James on October 10, 1998, and she survives.
Gary graduated from Clinton High School in 1980. He began working at Twist Enterprise at a young age and later started his own business, Jones Carpet Cleaning in Springfield, Mo. He drove a school bus for many years in Clinton, as well as owning and operating Equity Renovations. Gary continued this business after moving to Pittsfield.
He also owned and operated Pittsfield Guesthouse with his wife, Deana. He enjoyed visiting and forming friendships with guests and customers. Gary loved building and creating, working in the yard and landscaping, and sitting on the porch visiting with friends and family.
He is survived by his wife, Deana; children, Jason (Dawn) Jones, of Plattsmouth, Neb., Ryan Jones, of Omaha, Neb., Paul Dereak, of Clinton, and Alexa Dereak, of Clinton; grandchildren, Jaxon Jones, Cash Jones, Judy Ann Jones and Dawson Jones; and sister, Corina Shaw.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Delbert and Reva Jones; and a sister, Trena Jones.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 23, 2021, at 11 a.m. at Niebur Funeral Home, in Pittsfield, with visitation held prior to the service from 10-11 a.m.
