DECATUR — George Jeffrey Schwartz, Jr., 75, of Decatur, passed away AT 12:55 p.m. on December 25, 2017, at Decatur Memorial Hospital, Decatur, Ill.
No services are planned at this time. The family entrusted Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, with cremation rites.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the American Diabetes Association.
George was born on December 27, 1941, in Steele, Mo., the son of George J. and Zora (McNabb) Schwartz, Sr.
Survivors include his sons, Jeffrey Lee Schwartz, Seattle, Wash., and Russel (Dawn) Schwartz, Springfield, Ill.; grandson: William Christopher Schwartz, Clinton; brothers: Curtis Schwartz, Clinton, and Orvil (Maxine) Schwartz, Wapella; sister: Joan Cruise, Clinton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.
George loved spending time with his grandson and gambling. He had worked for Wagner Casting and Zexel Corp. in Decatur. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran.
