CLINTON — Hazel Irene Taylor, 90, of Clinton, passed away 1:30 a.m. on September 11, 2017 at Manor Court, Clinton.

 Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Monday, September 18, 2017, at Evergreen Cemetery, Waynesville, with Lance Schmid officiating. The family entrusted Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, with arrangements.

Memorials may be directed to the DeWitt County Friendship Center or the Waynesville American Legion.

 Hazel was born on September 8, 1927, in McLean County, Ill., the daughter of James Garrett and Clara Ethel (Ellis) Lowery. She married Arlen Taylor May 16, 1946, in DeWitt County, Ill.; he passed away in August 1997.

Survivors include her daughter, Linda (Dick Wagers) Schmid, Clinton; son,Jim (Judy) Taylor, Clinton; 12 grandchildren;16 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Don Lowery; and George (Bea) Lowery; and sister: Mary Ann Lowery.

 She was preceded in death by her parents, two sons,  Steve and Duane; and two brothers,  Charlie and Bob.

Hazel worked at Lincoln State School for over 20 years and she enjoyed traveling.  The family would like to extend a special “thank you” to the CNAs, nurses and staff at Liberty Village, Clinton.
