Holiday events coming up

Farmer City
Christmas parade
The Farmer City Christmas parade is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 19.
The parade will start at the Farmer City Fairgrounds and proceed south on Main Street through the business district.
The parade’s theme this year is “A Gingerbread House Christmas.”
Santa at the museum
Santa will visit the DeWitt County Museum from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 24 in the museum’s carriage barn.
Free hot cocoa will be available and Woods Photography will be available to take photos. Photo purchases are optional. Guests also may take their own photos.
This will be a free event.

candlelight tours
The C.H. Moore Homestead annual candlelight tours will begin on Friday, Nov. 24 from 5-8 p.m. and continue each Friday through Dec. 22.
Admission $5 for adults, $2 ages 12-18.
Clinton Chamber
Christmas parade
The Clinton Chamber Christmas parade is scheduled for 2 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 2.
The parade will assemble along East Main Street and travel west to Mr. Lincoln’s Square.
The parade’s theme this year is “Parade of Trees.”
Hot Cocoa with Santa
Vespasian Warner Public Library will host “Hot Cocoa with Santa” at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 9.
Free mugs will be available while supplies last, one per child.
This will be a family event, and all ages are welcome with a grown-up. Advanced registration is required by calling (217) 935-5174.
An Old-Fashioned Christmas with
Santa Claus
Weldon Springs Foundation will sponsor “An Old Fashioned Christmas with Santa Claus from 10-11:30 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 10 at Union Schoolhouse, Weldon Springs State Recreation Area.
There will be crafts, refreshments and two basket raffles during the event.
