CLINTON — James Jerome “Jerry” Baker, 67, of Clinton, passed away at 8:03 p.m. on August 18, 2019, at Warner Hospital & Health Services, Clinton.
Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Friday, August 23, 2019, at First Christian Church, Clinton, with Ernie Harvey, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Weldon Cemetery, Weldon. Visitation will be held from 5–7 p.m. on Thursday, August 22, 2019, at First Christian Church, Clinton. Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be directed to the Jerry Baker memorial fund.
Jerry was born on March 5, 1952, in Champaign, the son of Arthur Donald and Mary Ann (Foulks) Baker. He married Adrian L. Packer on June 24, 1995, in Clinton.
Survivors include his wife, Adrian L. Baker, Clinton; children; Tyler W. (Sondra) Baker, Clinton; Cassie (John Eckley) Baker, Lincoln; Kyle (Lisa) Bourne, Bloomington, Ill.; Keri Raymer, Clinton; six grandchildren; Alex, Zackary, Kylie, Hannah, Ethan, and Layney; siblings, Donald Steven (Barbara) Baker, Lake Mills, Wisconsin; Arthur “Artie” Baker, Oklahoma; Barbara (Gary) Twist, Peoria; special family, Della Cooper, Clinton, and her family.
He was preceded in death by his parents and Thomas F. Cooper.
Jerry’s passions were farming and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of First Christian Church, Clinton, and formerly worked for Clintonia Township for many years.
