CLINTON — Joan Lewis, 81, of Clinton, passed away at 3:07 a.m. on November 29, 2017, at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington.
Celebration of Joan’s Life will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, December 2, 2017, at the Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton.
Memorials may be directed to The Vault.
Joan was born on April 15, 1936, in Wapella, the daughter of Jesse Wayne and Nellie Aretta (Nelson) Thoms. She married Paul William Lewis on August 30, 1954, in Clinton.
Survivors include her husband, Paul William Lewis, Clinton; children, Belinda “Lindy” L. (Daniel J.) Hubert, Lowell, Ind.; William “Bill” Wayne (Jill) Lewis, Cheno Hills, Calif.; and Loretta “Lori” (Jerry) Benedict, Clinton; nine frandchildren; 10 freat-grandchildren; siblings: Sara (Larry) Stewart, Blain, Pa.; and Jay Wayne (Barb) Thoms, Clinton.
She was preceded by her parents, brother, Ray Marvin Thoms, sister, Ida Ellen Gentry, and grandson: Tyler Lewis.
Joan worked for the Clinton School District for 25 years until her retirement. She supported Paul’s music career and was his number 1 fan. She was sassy and spunky but was extremely loving to everyone, especially children.
