CLINTON — John R. Merriell, 77, of Clinton, passed away at 5:50 a.m. on August 9, 2018, at HSHS St. Mary’s Hospital, Decatur, Ill.
Memorial services will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Thursday, August 16, 2018, at the First Church of the Nazarene, Clinton, with the Rev. Michael Taylor officiating. Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, assisted the family with cremation rites.
Memorials may be directed to the John R. Merriell memorial fund.
John was born on June 30, 1941, in Clinton, the son of Reginald and Kathryn (Mahon) Merriell. He married Lois J. Smith on November 15, 2004, in Greenup, Ill.
Survivors include his wife, Lois J. Merriell, Clinton, and brother, Joseph (Margaret) Merriell, Elmhurst, Ill.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
