CLINTON — Joseph T. “Joe” Daniels, Sr., 66, of Clinton, passed away at 3:21 p.m. on November 2, 2018, at Advocate BroMenn Regional Medical Center, Normal.
Services will be conducted at 10 Aa.m. on Tuesday, November 6, 2018, at Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, with J. Kent Hickerson officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Park Cemetery, Clinton. Visitation will be held from 5 – 8 p.m. on Monday, November 5, 2018 at the funeral home.
Memorials may be directed to Strong Kids at the Clinton YMCA.
Joe was born on March 31, 1952, in Clinton, the son of Harold and Jacquetta J. “Jackie” (Davis) Daniels. He married Cathy Weikel on June 3, 1973 in Clinton.
Survivors include his wife, Cathy Daniels, Clinton; children, Joe (Michelle) Daniels, Jr., Bloomington, Ill., and Jill (Matt) Sullivan, Downers Grove, Ill.; five grandchildren, McKinley, Ethan, and Kelsey Daniels; and Aidan and Kaylyn Sullivan; siblings, Juanita (Jim) Morris, Clinton; and Harold (Emmy) Daniels, Jr., Clinton.
He was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law, Dale Weikel; and sister-in-law, Judy Hendricker.
Joe retired from Baum Chevrolet-Buick body shop after 30 years of service. He enjoyed woodworking, knife making, and was a Harley-Davidson enthusiast. Joe also enjoyed butchering deer for friends. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.
