J’s Dance tumblers brings home three state champions

BOURBONNAIS, Ill. — The Star Power Tumblers of J’s Dance Studio of Heyworth attended the USTA Northern Illinois State Tumbling and Trampoline Meet in Bourbonnais.  The team brought home three State Champions.

Carly Reynolds, 10,of Clinton, earned her first place in Advanced Beginner Tumbling and also in Novice Double Mini Trampoline.  

Sidney Ditchen, of Heyworth, became a State Champion in Beginner 8-year-olds Tumbling. She also competed in Double Mini placing 5th and 9th in Tumbling.

Reynolds was also awarded the High Point Award for her Top score in the Novice Double Mini Level.  Her score was higher than 170 other competitors in the Novice Level of all ages.

Tessa Bittner, 10, of Bloomington, earned 2nd Place in Double Mini, 3rd in Tumbling and 11th on Trampoline. Karlie Bless, 6, of Clinton, earned 10th place in all three events. 

Meg Carlton, 10, of Heyworth earned 9th out of 49 in Tumbling, 6th on Double mini and 12th on Trampoline.  Carlton also earned personal best in all three events. 

Addy Jeffrey, 9, of Heyworth competed in her first year on the team earning Top 15 in all three events making her a National Qualifier in all 3 events. 

Lilah Culver, 8,of DeWitt, placed 14th in Tumbling, 10th on Double Mini and 17th on Trampoline. 

Elizabeth Deavers, 11, of Clinton 4th in Double Mini, 10th in Tumbling and 8th on Trampoline.  Olivia Ditchen, 9, of Heyworth, earned 4th on Tumbling, 5th on Double Mini and 9th on Trampoline. 

Kinsey Durflinger, of Heyworth placed 7th on Double Mini, 7th in Sub Novice Tumbling and 16th on Trampoline.  

Alyssa Fugate, of Beason, placed 10th in Tumbling, 17th on Trampoline, and 7th on Double Mini.  Her sister, Gracie earned 10th in Double Mini, 3rd in Tumbling and 8th on Trampoline. 

First year member, Leslie Huffman, of Heyworth ,placed 13th Double Mini, 9th in tumbling and 11th in Trampoline.  

Katie Karr, 10, of Clinton placed 4th in all three events.  Carsyn Langellier of Heyworth, placed 8th in Double Mini, 12th in Novice Tumbling and 10th on Intermediate Trampoline.

Addy Lauterberg earned 7th on Tramp, 12th in Tumbling, 13th on Double Mini. Lilly Long, 9, of LeRoy, placed 13th on Trampoline, 15th in Tumbling and 10th Novice Double Mini. 

Molli McGee, 13, of Shirley, competed in Intermediate 13-year-olds in Double Mini placing 15th, 10th in Novice Tumbling and 14th Intermediate Trampoline.  

Mandy Scott, of Heyworth, earned 2nd place on Double Mini, 11th in Novice Tumbling and 17th in Trampoline.  

Avery Smith, of Clinton, earned 10th on Tramp, 9th in Tumbling and 14th on Double Mini.  

Audrey Toohill, also of Clinton, placed 13th on Trampoline and 17th on Double Mini.

Chelsey Hickman, competed in her last USTA State Meet as a Graduating Senior.  She placed 5th on Trampoline, 13th in Tumbling and 2nd place on Double Mini.

The top 15 places have qualified to attend and compete at the USTA Tumbling and Trampoline National Meet held in June in Madison, WI. J’s Star Power Tumbling Team is coached by Jeanette Wey-Wissmiller, Laurie Goodrich and Chelsey Hickman.
