CLINTON — On Tuesday, the Clinton Junior High Maroons baseball team entered their first playoff game at home.

The opposition for this game was the Lincoln Junior High Lancers.  The home team was the higher seed in this game and also had the home field advantage.

The first inning saw the opposition score a run to start off the game, but the Maroons answered with 3 runs of their own in the bottom half of the inning.

The second inning was scoreless for the Lancers, while the Maroons racked up 6 runs on five walks and three hits.  The rout of the Lancers had begun in earnest.

In the top of the third inning, the Lancers refused to lay down and surrender their weapons, scoring a total of 4 runs.  The score was 9-5 in favor of the home team.

The bottom of the inning saw the Maroons reaction to the Lancers four runs; the home team shot back with 7 runs in the bottom of the third.  The fourth inning was elementary as Lincoln failed to score, and Clinton added another run to win the contest 17-5.

Next for the Maroons are the top-seeded Williamsville Bee Bees.  #Maroon Strong, #Maroon Pride.
